Since we think a picture is worth a thousand words here we share with all of you some of the special moments we had with my parents and my little brother on their first visit to England.
It was a perfect weekend full of love, laughs and fun. They enjoyed every second with Julia and she definitely did aswell. It was like a three day celebration for Julia’s bday where she got to play with Aaron and her yayus. For us, and specially for me, it was a boost of energy to keep going, and trying harder to settle in this new country that so well has welcomed us. When you are new in a place you often have these times when you feel a bit lonely and homesick but we know we need an opposition in all things, so as I told my mum on her visit it is good to miss them, so when you get together again you love them even more, if that’s possible.
Oh Julia had her first and hopefully the last little fracture in her life! But that’s a different story. She just trapped her finger into the door…what can we say, when you are young sometimes you have to learn the hard way, don’t you? But she’s absolutely fine now 😀 So our next great adventure..hopefully a Christmas visit to Barcelona!

Getting ready for the first family visit

(First Julia’s pet salon kitty, she’s an artist! Isn’t she?)

Making plans for the “yayus” visit… We are all so excited to have my parents and my little brother coming over next weekend! They will get here on the 20th, which is Julia’s bday, so it couldn’t be more perfect, and they’ll leave on Monday. Just four days with them, but after three months of skyping, vibering and whatsapping we can’t wait to see them and have some golden family time all together. Meanwhile we are getting ready for Julia’s bday, buying a few presents without her noticing it, which is actually harder than we thought! Good thing she’s not tall enough to reach up to the highest part of the closet. She gets so excited with so many things every time we go shopping that I think our chances to disappoint her will be very rare. But we’ll let you know next week, haha..

I’m also going to take a four day course to become self-employed. We’ve been thinking about it for a while now and we decided it could be a good opportunity for me to expand my experience in my professional field and at the same time look after our little trouble maker. I’ve always felt reluctant about that, and when I say reluctant I mean terrified but now it’s the right time and the right place to give it a try. We’ll tell you about it in another post, hopefully with exciting news 😉

We are also applying for Samuel’s UK residence, so maybe in a near future he will answer by the name of Sir Samuel Costa of Manchester,hehe.. Anyway, we have so many things going on lately and we’ll happily keep telling you all our crazy, exciting, most of the time ordinary stories of our daily lives but we know you will read them with good eyes so thank you for that!

The soundtrack of our adventure

Have you ever had a song that takes you to that specific moment in your life? Well, we have a few of those and we’d like to share them with you.
Before coming here, like around April – May we used to listen to Impossible, James Arthur’s version… Whether this whole British adventure was meant to be “impossible” or what I don’t know but we are here now and with an extra “divine help” we are making the impossible turn possible 😉
Ok! Another one that has an interesting effect on Julia’s after bath mood is Somebody that I used to know by Gotye. We don’t know why!! But it really works every single time. She usually likes to run around the flat completely naked but when she listens to this song she sits down quietly to watch the video on YouTube while we put her clothes on. Oh! And her favorite song ever since we got to England is Lalala by Naughty boy. She starts singing it like the little boy in the video. And the last but not least Ela é top by a Brazilian group. This is the song that is played at the restaurant where Samuel works. He didn’t like it in the beggining but now he’s starting to listen to it at home as well…
Anyway, so these are just a few! And if we had to put here every song that takes us to that special moment we would need a whole discography of our lives! I actually think that’s a good idea…maybe one day we’ll do it…you know, kinda like ‘The Greatest hits of the Costa Tuesta family’ hehe…
